Alterra on the Square - Madison café opens Friday, April 5!
Alterra Coffee is proud to announce the opening of its newest cafe, located in Tenney Plaza on Madison's Capitol Square. Tenney Plaza is a beautiful historic Art Deco building, constructed in 1930, and claiming the title of Wisconsin's first steel frame high-hise. The cafe sits at the corner of Pinckney & Main amid the hustle and bustle of our state capitol and community events like Concerts on the Square.
On Friday, April 5 at 6am, Alterra on the Square opens its doors!
In addition to freshly brewed coffee, Letterbox Fine Teas, and expertly-crafted espresso drinks, the cafe will serve up our very own homemade baked goods, made from scratch and delivered fresh daily. An extensive café food menu with a focus on locally sourced ingredients will include homemade soups, salads, breakfast burritos, wraps and more. Another feature of the menu is a variety of sandwiches and specials served with Alterra Baking Company's new line of artisan breads.
The cafe in Tenney Plaza has been outfitted with a brewed-by-the-cup coffee bar where customers can select from a handful of fresh roasted coffees brewed using a manual pourover method. We are also thrilled to join the ranks of Wisconsin craft brewers with the introduction of two custom-brewed beers to our lineup of offerings. One Tun IPA and Cortado Imperial Stout were developed in-house by Alterra's director of coffee, George Bregar, and head roaster, Shawn Bigelow, both avid home brewers. The beers will be available by the pint and coming soon by the growler, and will be unveiled at the new cafe's opening.
